SilverTeams is a value-driven marketplace enabling companies to locate skilled software development professionals who can compete and collaborate on projects. Developed on the Silverlight platform with the user experience in mind, it will outshine any other platform on the market.
SilverTeams can be described as Elance meets TheLadders. Based partially on Roy Lawson's 2005 Master's thesis on Adapting Methodologies to Business Objectives, this project is designed to create a marketplace for high value developers, contractors, consultants, and small consulting firms. Elance and ODesk can be described as a marketplace that connects low-cost developers with primarily customers on a tight budget, and TheLadders is a search firm focusin on individuals earning over six figure salaries. SilverTeams will specifically create a marketplace focused on delivering the best overall value, not the lowest bill rate. There are several things that won't be compromised: User Experience, Security, Extensibility and Scalability, and the objective of creating a marketplace for those with higher than average skills and billing rates, and companies seeking superior results. The reason for making this open source is because I am more interested in creating the market place than owning the marketplace. Ideally the marketplace would be community operated by people with like goals.
